About Us
The Antidote was formed in 2018 for the Rover Ruckus Season. We are a team of 4 members hailing from New Albany, Ohio. Team 14320 has been participating in FIRST for a total of six years but adopted a new name in 2018. Since then, Team 14320 is known as The Antidote. As we transition into FIRST Tech Challenge, the impact of FIRST robotics is flourishing. We have industry professionals involved who are assisting as mentors and helping us grow.
The team is comprised of four middle and high school students (2 Middle, 2 High School) with a boy to girl ratio of 1:1. Each member specializes in one of three subcategories (three marketing, three software, and four hardware), but all members are highly encouraged to contribute to every aspect of the team. In its rookie season, The Antidote is a three-time Inspire Award Finalist, given to teams that embody the 'challenge' of the FIRST Tech Challenge program, Motivate, Design, Connect, Promote Award Winners, and Think and Control Award Finalists. The Antidote also qualified for the FTC World Championship in Detroit, Michigan and were 1 of 5 Motivate Award Finalists at the World Championship.
The Antidote strives to share the passion of FIRST and STEM with others. Our primary focus is to develop and educate the rising generation of entrepreneurs and leaders in STEM. We hope to continue to reach out to communities and spread FIRST and the lessons that FIRST embodies by inspiring next generation to be science and technology innovators and leaders in the STEM field. Our team has been actively participating in events to promote STEAM to greater Columbus. These events include the Ohio State Fair, STEM fest, and STEM Expo, where we promoted FIRST and demonstrated our robot.
